Waterdown Minor Baseball Association

2025 Softball Program

2025 Softball Program Announcement

The Waterdown Minor Baseball Association (WMBA) has been evaluating its programming over the past few years, focusing on the long-term vision for our organization. While we have seen significant growth in our hardball programs, participation in our softball programs has been declining. WMBA has always been committed to providing meaningful opportunities for all players, and many of our past and current leaders have had personal ties to softball.

With changes in the local softball landscape, including the introduction of Representative (Rep) teams in neighboring centers for the 2025 season, WMBA recognizes that a shift is necessary. As a baseball-focused organization, we believe it is in the best interest of our softball players to partner with a dedicated softball association that can provide the specialized resources, training, and opportunities they deserve.

Program Changes for 2025

  1. Transitioning Softball Programs for Younger Age Groups:

    • WMBA will no longer offer 9U and 11U softball programs starting in 2025. This will end our involvement with Flamborough Minor Softball Association.

    • We have established a partnership with Burlington Softball (BASA), a highly regarded softball-focused organization. BASA provides excellent opportunities for players, from house league to select and now rep-level softball. For more information, please visit their website: www.basa.ca.

  2. Continued Support for Older Age Groups:

    • WMBA will continue to offer softball programs for 13U, 15U, and 17U players for the 2025 season. These teams will compete in the Halton Girls Softball League.

Important Notes

  • Registration for 13U, 15U and 17U Softball and Hardball Houseleague for the 2025 season opens December 1, 2024.

  • Families interested in transitioning to Burlington Softball for younger age groups should reach out to BASA directly for details on their programs. Click on the logo below to be redirected to BASA website.
