Dear Baseball Families,

As we wrap up an incredible 2025 baseball season, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for being part of our WMBA community. This season brought real growth to our houseleague, Houseleague select, and rep programs, and we could not have done it without the dedication of our volunteers, coaches, and families.

A special thank you goes out to our board members, who put in countless hours behind the scenes to make sure our players have a place to play and thrive, and to our coaches at every level, whose commitment to developing players both on and off the field is the foundation of our success.

2025 Season Highlights

This year, we enjoyed a number of exciting events that brought our community together:

  • Rep tournaments

  • Houseleague All-Star Games

  • T-Ball Skills Challenge

  • First-ever Coaches vs. Coaches game

  • Super Saturday

  • 11U Friday Night Under the Lights

  • Movie Night at Joe Sams Park

These events were a huge success, and we are excited to bring them back in 2026, with even more opportunities for fun and competition.

Looking Ahead to 2026

We’re already preparing for another fantastic season with exciting updates, including:

  • All-Star Weekend Expansion: Adding a skills competition for players from Coach Pitch through 14U.

  • Spring Tournament Return: Bringing back the 9U June tournament, which will also replace games missed during Rib Fest.

  • New Houseleague Age Divisions: Designed to improve player development and ensure the best experience for every age group:

    • T-Ball: Born 2021–2022

    • Coach Pitch: Born 2019–2020

    • 9U: Born 2017–2018

    • 11U: Born July 1, 2014 – 2016

    • 14U: Born 2012 – June 30, 2014

    • High School: Born 2008–2011

We remain committed to offering three levels of play:

  • Houseleague: Open to all players in Waterdown/Flamborough.

  • Houseleague Select: For houseleague players seeking a higher level of competition, with tryouts held in September.

  • Rep Baseball: Competing in COBA.

Softball Opportunities

The WMBA also continues to support girls’ softball through our partnership with the Burlington Amateur Softball Association (BASA). This collaboration, which began in 2025, provides a strong pathway for young female athletes in divisions such as 9U, 11U, and 13U. We are proud to offer this option for players who wish to compete in a dedicated softball environment with expanded opportunities.

Next Steps

  • Rep tryout registration is now open on our website.

  • In the coming days, families will receive detailed information about Rep and Select programs specific to their child’s age bracket.

We encourage everyone to stay tuned, get involved, and continue building our great baseball community together.

Thank you once again for your energy, support, and commitment to making 2025 a year to remember. We can’t wait to see what 2026 brings!

With appreciation,
Chris Simpson
