WMBA/OBA - Green Armband Program
The WMBA is excited to partner with OBA on their green armband program.

WMBA umpires in partnership with OBA has launched the green arm bands as a pilot project for our umpires 18 & under. The thought process behind the green arm band like in hockey is that when you see the umpires wearing the bands it signifies that they are a minor and you as a spectator, coach and or player should be cheering them on, encouraging them etc. Without our youth umpires we would not be able to have the baseball we have here in waterdown.
Every year associations across the province and country are having their umpiring number drop because of the treatment of Umpires especially those younger umpires.  This program will help foster better treatment of all umpires across the association by letting all those involved know that these umpires are minors and are not to be treated in a negative way.  Currently we have board members at all divisions from TBall through 16U either as spectators or coaches.  We are always watching and making notes about things we see including umpiring. We also have board members walking the diamonds and we stand out in our bright white jackets.
