the 2026 Rep Coaches Applications is now open.
Interested in coaching Rep Baseball in 2026, now is the time to start. The application process has now started and you have until July 13th to put in your application for the 2026 season. Over the years we have a talented group of coaches leading our players and we are looking for the next group to continue with the growth and advancement of not just our players but our association. Coaches play a huge role in our association and the WMBA truly appreciated all those who give countless hours to our sport, community and association.
What to know
- All current (2025) Rep/select coaches and new applicants must complete the online application, no exceptions.

- Only those who the WMBA feel are a fit for the association will be contacted for an interview. Some applicants may not receive an interview.
- All Rep coaches must complete all required certification courses
- All Rep coaches must complete a VSC Police Check
- All Rep coaches must be available to be on the diamonds during pre tryout workouts
- All Rep coaches must be available during all Rep tryouts to assist with the evaluating of other divisions
- All Rep coaches must abide by all OBA, COBA, WMBA, PWSA and City of Hamilton Rules, Regulations and by-laws
- All Rep coaches will have their own child evaluated in season (Current 2025) to make sure they are able to play at the level the coach is applying for. If it is deemed that the applicants child is not at the level of which the applicant is applying for a lower division May be offered or no offer will be made
Process Outline
- Applications must be submitted by July 13th
- Interviews will be held prior to the August long weekend
- Tier 1, Team 1 (same division), EBLO coaches will be notified and offered prior to the OBA Provincials weekends and shared with the full association membership.
- Tier 2, Team 2 (same division) will be notified that an offer is being made but announcements will not be made until after the first weekend of tryouts.
- Tryouts will be held in September over a period of 2 weeks.
Tryouts
All tryouts for all teams must meet the minimum numbers to be able to run the age division. Should a division not meet the numbers the WMBA may pull the division and not offer that team for the season. All players must register online to participate during the tryouts. All Rep coaches must be available to assist with the evaluating of players at other divisions during tryouts.
Teams
The WMBA for the first time will have a team competing in the EBLO for 2026. To continue with this programing the hope is to have Tier 1 at all ages from 9U to 14U. Tier 1 teams will offer more off season training and compete against the best teams in COBA for the regular season. Tier 2 teams offer off season training but some do less to allow for other sports. The WMBA will offer teams based on what is best for the association at each age division not based on what is currently (2025 season) being played. For example if for 2025 we have two teams at an age and both are struggling and through evaluation during the the season the WMBA may choose to opt out of two Rep teams and move to a select option for the second team.
Select Baseball
The WMBA will offer our current Houseleague select program for the 2026 season as the main select baseball option at 9U, 11U, 13U, 15U and 18U. Should the WMBA feel that dedicated select option is best for an age bracket (ex 11U which is 10U and 11U aged players) over multiple Rep teams this will be optioned.
