The start of the season is just around the corner. Team Rosters are being entered into the system as I type. Coaches will have their team lists and schedules this weekend, so you should hear from your coach at the start of next week. The season is suppose to start the week of May 15th. At this point in time the City of Hamilton has not released the diamonds for use yet and due to the weather we will probably be waiting a few more days. Also, due to the weather, the 2 new diamonds at Joe Sam's are awaiting completion. As a result the first few weeks of the schedule will be slightly altered as we have to use the diamonds that are available to us. We appreciate your patience as we deal with the weather. As you know baseball is a weather dependent sport and we will do our best to get in as many games as we can. Players are required to have a helmet and glove, cleats are optional.
Thank you to all of our volunteer coaches, we couldn't run the seaon without you.

The baseball season is slowly coming to a close and it is time for tryouts for next year’s Rep baseball program. Rep teams are formed by tryout sessions with eligible players rostered with teams playing under the auspices of the Central Ontario Baseball Association (COBA). Play involves games with teams from the surrounding area & tournaments throughout the spring/summer of 2018. We already have a few tryouts scheduled (below) and will be releasing times and places for other tryouts in the next little while for teams in divisions that will be fielded. Please check here regularly for any sessions that are added. We will do our best to notify those born in a specific year of their respective tryout dates.

An amazing effort from our Major Rookieball team in Tecumseh has brought back gold! The Waterdown Wolves Major Rookieball team completed a weekend going undefeated to bring home the 2017 Ontario Baseball Association "A" Provincial Championship. Both the team's offence and defence were overwhelming to their opponents in the 22 team tournament, allowing only 6 runs total in the 6 games they played on way to taking the title (56 total run differential for the entire weekend). The tournament was capped with a 13-1 defeat of the St. Catherines team in the final. Our congratulations go out to all the hardworking players, and to head coach Doug Zimmerman and all his assistants on doing a great job the entire year. You have made the entire association proud!
If you are interested in becoming a coach for the 2018 season, the coaching application form is now available online in our Coaches/Umpires/Volunteers section. Please fill out the required information, and feel free to contact us with any questions you have. All applications will be reviewed and you will be contacted regardless of whether a coaching position can/will be made available or not. Submissions for Rep and Select are due by August 31st, 2017 at 11:59pm. Rep and Select coaching positions will be awarded by mid-September 2017. Houseleague coaching applications will be available until the start of the upcoming houseleague season (dates pending).
The houseleague year for the lower division teams is in the books and we had another weekend of great weather conditions for our year end finale. It was a fabulous ending to another successful and ever-growing year for the WMBA. Championships were held at various times during this weekend and the medals have all been handed out! The results for each division were as follows:
Sr. T-Ball: For the second year in a row, the Blue Jays, this time sponsored by Carmeuse Lime, were crowned champions with a narrow victory over the Yogashala Rockies
Rookieball: The Fortinos' Marlins one upped the Burnside State Farm Red Sox to take this one
Mosquito: Another Red Sox Team finalist, this time sponsored by Pita Pit, overcame the tough Tim Horton's Orioles to become this year's Mosquito champions
PeeWee: There must be something with the Red Sox this year, as the Burnside State Farm team also took the PeeWee division championship and outlasted the Turkstra Lumber Blue Jays in a battle of the top 2 regular season teams
Congratulations to all participants, and thank you for all the parents/guardians for making this our best overall season to date. An extra special shout out to all the volunteer coaches, assistants and all those that made things happen smother than we ever could have expected. Let's hope that next year is just as special! We are always looking for more volunteers in all capacities, so feel free to get in touch with us if you feel the need to help out, as our membership is growing bigger than you can imagine!
P.S. Don't forget to look out for our ongoing rep team games, and wish those teams success in the upcoming OBA playoffs at the end of August & Labour Day weekend (which the Major C PeeWee tournament will be hosted by none other than yours truly). Keep you eyes glued to our website as we will make announcements sometime in the near future for tryout time slots for 2018 rep teams to be held sometime in September.
