My my My my
WMBA General Annual Meeting

The sun has set on another baseball season, and it's time for our annual general meeting. The meeting takes place Wednesday, October 28th, 2015 at Harry Howell Arena from 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and is open to all members of the WMBA and the general public to review the year's activities. The AGM is held every year to elect the executive committee positions and inform their members of previous and future activities. It is an opportunity to review the fiscal information for the past year and ask any questions regarding the directions the association will take in the future. The association is always in need of volunteers. If you feel you have the capacity to help out in any way, the AGM is a great place to let it be known. Please mark your calendars and hope to see everyone there!

Great Showing for Waterdown Rep teams at OBA's

It was a terrific showing for Waterdown teams competing in the OBA Provincial Championship tournaments this past weekend.

  • Minor Rookieball Rep advanced to the AA tournament finals as the #1 seed on Monday in Brantford, only to succumb to a second place finish against a very strong St. Thomas team. More on how the team played in the tournament as well as throughout the year, see the article in the Flamborough Review.
  • Major Mosquito Rep did not advance to Sunday in Chatham, but competed hard giving up a total run differential of only 3 runs for the two games they played, narrowly losing 3-1 to LaSalle and 5-4 to St. Thomas, while playing sound fundamental defence.
  • Major Peewee Rep advanced to Sunday’s semis in Leamington, handily defeating Harrow 19-0 and Amherstburg 10-0 and earning a bye on the Saturday, but losing a close semi-final game to the host team early Sunday morning.
  • Minor Bantam Rep had a tough draw with having their first game against the defending, and eventual 2015, champions Woodstock.  The team played 3 tight games and played well but not quite enough to get past the champions and runners-up Bolton, who knocked them out by one run.
  • Major Bantam Rep competed hard, but was not able to continue past Saturday’s games, losing to tough teams from Halton Hills and tournament finalist LaSalle.

Congratulations to all the teams that participated and thank you to all the players, coaches, fans and team sponsors on making it an enjoyable competition for all.
